Unlike Oya, my character has to heat and cool at the same time, and cannot do one without the other, preserving conservation of energy (though violating the principle of entropy). It was going to be sound as a science rather than as an art (music). In essence, shattering brittle materials like glass and bone, or causing vertigo, nausea, and internal hemorrhaging. Using soundwaves to generate vibrations. Also voice and sound mimicking and ventriloquism for deception and disorientation. For me, music is too 'magical', I prefer dealing with the physical and scientific properties of sound. Not that I have anything against other characters using music as an ability.
I feel u on that. There is a vast difference between the basic manipulation of sound and the utilization of a very manipulated rhythmic version of sound(music). When I see music as the basis of a power, i think of it more as a psychic ability to manipulate the portion of the brain that stimulates pleasure sensors when someone hears melodious patterns and finds it pleasing, like with music. Raw sound, like with the voice, is more of a manipulation of the vocal chords to achieve dissonant effects like glass shattering, vertigo, etc. I think they are both very cool, though the 'magical' element of music, definitely hits my soft spot a bit more. lol But if ur character has to heat and cool at the same time, what would the resounding effect be?
