Makan sighed quietly before following. What the dragon hadn't noticed was that a single scale from his tail fell loose as he walked out. The other villagers were on their way back already. The dragon paused. "No question about jewels just disappearing?" he asked Sara, chuckling a bit. He moved at a slower pace so that the woman wouldn't have to jog. "I have to say, some of what I will tell you will challenge what you have been raised to think and believe, Miss Sara." He looked down at her. "As I have said, we dragons have been around since before mankind; my race was already old by the time your race was born."
