And yes, that's partly true. I think what you mean is the colour of sunrises and sunsets, since the events themselves are caused by the Earth rotating around its own axis," Ioan explained. "The atmosphere is like a filter for sunlight: It filters out mainly the blue parts, and if the sun is low in the sky, its light has to cross more layers of the atmosphere before it meets our eyes. That means that more parts of its spectre are being filtered out, making the sun appear reddish."
