The Ascendancy is home to numerous species from all across the galaxy. Human, nonehuman, it matters not, all are equal in the Holy Light of Grana.

[b][u]Technological Description:[/u][/b]
Jalaryian Technology, especially that of the automated variety, centers around and is powered by the Grana AI. The Jalaryians consider such technology blessed and sacred. Automated Drones are a rarity within the Ascendancy, those that are present are seen and often do act as living extensions of the God Grana. Within the Ascendancy, advanced and extensive Cybernetics are commonplace among the Jalaryian Elite, seeing these modifications as way to become closer to Grana. For the lower classes, older forms and models of cybernetic augments are often the few options available for the truly devote.

[b][u]Government Description:[/u][/b]
The Ascendancy is a Theocratic Monarchy under the rule of its God, Grana, an Ancient AI construct of great power. Under Grana are the general caretakers, the Ecclesiarchy. The Jalaryian Ecclesiarchy functions both as the state church and central governing body of the Ascendancy. Promoting and spreading the Light of Grana and keeping order within the borders of the Ascendancy. Such Order is maintained by its secretive enforcement wing, the Inquisition. 
[b][u]Cultural/Religious Description:[/u][/b]
The culture of Jalaryian Ascendancy is one of piety, devotion and order. Most citizens of the Ascendancy strive to become faithful servants of Grana, and to be worthy one day to become one with their god on the day of their death. Despite some semblance of peace and prosperity, it is far from it. Although a great many are content with their lives, many other citizens think otherwise, and often are marked as either apostates or heretics, and often will be hunted down by the Inquisitors. 

Jalaryians have differing views towards technology, specifically technology of native origin. Nearly all pieces of tech is seen as a gift from Grana, who powers it all from the Ascendant Palace on Jalaryias, and as such, revered specific pieces of technology as holy. With such views, the Ascendancy is by far one of the centers of Cybernetic technology.

Giving the ultimate task of protecting the Ascendant Palace and Grana itself, the Ascendant Guard are among the Elite of the Ascendancy's military forces. Augmented with the best Jalaryian Cybernetics can offer, the Guard are skillful trained in the art close-quarters combat and melee combat. The advanced cybernetics enhance their strength and thus are stronger then most fit men.
