I support blaming @Lord Wraith.

If you can blame Wraith, always blame Wraith - that's my motto.

I'll have a response to Cap up shortly and hopefully have a Fantastic Four post up some point in the early afternoon. Try and get the ball rolling a little again.

You see my reasons for education are very selfish.

I am going to turn myself into the real life Hulk. Because everyone knows that it is possible because science I mean, what do you think comic writers do? Make this shit up? Hah!

I think not. All the science is accurate and supported by legitimate scientists.

So legitimate I cannot stress enough how legitimate it is.

I really meant to write Spider-Man tonight, but then House of Cards happened. Incidentally, if Spider-Man starts speaking in a Southern drawl and breaking the fourth wall to discuss nefarious plans, it's simply a coincidence...

But @Morden Man. Is Byrd capable of speaking?

Or is it just via diffusion?

So we all (probly) know the opening themes to Avengers Earths Mightiest heroes, and Justice League.

(Not counting Avengers Assemble ofc as like all current Marvel AU openings it lasts two seconds without much for music).

I'm interested to see who likes which more. I like both shows but I feel like Avengers:EMH just has much better opening titles, it's action packed and the music and the actual scenes go well together. Gets you really pumped. While Justice League is good, I don't see the reason for them using an alternate animating style. Also while it does have some good music, the music and the scenes seem a bit anti-climatic whenever you have a previously involved.

I easily preferred Justice League. But if that's the Avengers cartoon I think it is, the way that they opened the show was fantastic from a storytelling standpoint.

The first one is absolute mallrat rubbish, the second one is scored by one of the better contemporary composers of her generation.

Bolded applies to JL/JLU, not A:EMH.

I genuinely think both are pretty great, but I gotta give it to the JL theme. They're the OGs, son. Plus, I feel like the League theme is a bit more unique and powerful in comparison to the Avengers opening, which sorta reminds me of a lot of other Saturday Morning cartoon stuff.

No need to knock one or the other, I merely asked which is your favourite :P.

Also I dunno I feel like the A:EMH scenes run into eachother a bit nicer.

Indeed they both are. Also while I do like the League theme it just doesn't give me the same... umph factor (For anyone who feels that this is just my musical preference you should know that I tend to listen to scores/trailer music more than songs with lyrics). Could just be my inner child, whereas with the JL theme it sounds like the kind of stuff I listen to nowadays :P

I agree. Their approach to storytelling was great, I especially liked how they introduced each of the characters before bringing them together.

See, that's funny, cause I'm pretty sure that's why I sorta prefer the JL theme. I remember that clear as day from the times I'd wake up and skip the first like hour of school to watch an episode of JLU in the morning. And then get appropriately reamed by my parents.

I suppose the inner child elements depends what kinda shows you watched as a kid. I wasn't a kid when I watched EMH but it threw me back to it, and we didn't have a channel and even when JLU came out on TV I had pretty much already decided what kinda shows I was watching, when I managed to get the TV which wasn't a lot of the time. Hell when I managed to get the TV it was Stargate or Pokémon and that was that.

also to derail my own conversation... this doesn't need to be discussed about as it isn't DC or Marvel related but

Well, if I have a strong discontent for something I'm going to say it. I honestly cannot even fathom how someone can prefer the former over the latter considering the dynamic build Walker composed for Justice League. Hell, I still go back in forth of the revised version they did for the show when it made the jump to Justice League Unlimited was better or not for me. Walker always had a skill composing strings that were bound by strong emotions (The Superman: TAS opening for the strength of hope, for example). Earth's Mightiest Heroes? It feels like a throwaway that wasn't made for the show and was just slapped on to appeal to the tween demographic. I hated that type of music in 2004 and I hate it now.

It's dynamic, it's good. It's epic, it just doesn't sit on the same pedestal for me. It just doesn't give me the same feeling that EMH does, probably because EMHs theme reminds me of all the shows I used to watch as a kid. I can't really explain why for some reason JL just doesn't appeal to me on the same level, but then people have been dealing with different tastes forever. It happens.

Walker always had a skill composing strings that were bound by strong emotions (The Superman: TAS opening for the strength of hope, for example).

Probably again linked to personal tastes (Which is why I started a nice lil'discussion to see what people thought) though I don't get a sense of much from the Justice League opening. It's big, it's grandiose. That's about all I get from it.

I hated that type of music in 2004 and I hate it now.

Fair play to you :P
