The Ascendancy is home to numerous species from all across the galaxy. Human, Nonhuman, it matters not, all are equal in the Holy Light of Grana. Jalaryian Space is home to over 20 native species as well as the founding human colonists and converted migrants from other nations.

[b][u]Technological Description:[/u][/b]
Jalaryian Technology, especially that of the automated variety, centers around and is powered by the Grana AI. The Jalaryians consider such technology blessed and sacred. Automated Drones are a rarity within the Ascendancy, those that are present are seen and often do act as living extensions of the God Grana. A great majority of the population have small cybernetic implants planted in their skulls. The implants act as a sort of record of the individual, the citizenry have come to call this implants "Soul Chips" and for good reason.

Upon death, these implants are immediately extracted and are placed in the Collection Bank located within the Palace. When activated, said individual is bought back from the Dead as an AI construct, reborn as a "Spirit". In the final step, they become one with Grana, and embrace the light and forver serve the people and Grana. All Ascendancy AI, be it for public service, tourism and military, were once living beings.

Within the Ascendancy, advanced and extensive Cybernetics are commonplace among the Jalaryian Elite, seeing these modifications as way to become closer to Grana. For the lower classes, older forms and models of cybernetic augments are often the few options available for the truly devote.

[b][u]Government Description:[/u][/b]
The Ascendancy is a Theocratic Monarchy under the rule of its God, Grana, an Ancient AI construct of great power. Under Grana are the general caretakers, the Ecclesiarchy. The Jalaryian Ecclesiarchy functions both as the state church and central governing body of the Ascendancy. Promoting and spreading the Light of Grana and keeping order within the borders of the Ascendancy. Such Order is maintained by its secretive enforcement wing, the Inquisition. 
[b][u]Cultural/Religious Description:[/u][/b]
The culture of Jalaryian Ascendancy is one of piety, devotion and order. Most citizens of the Ascendancy strive to become faithful servants of Grana, and to be worthy one day to become one with their god on the day of their death. Despite some semblance of peace and prosperity, it is far from it. Although a great many are content with their lives, many other citizens think otherwise, and often are marked as either apostates or heretics, and often will be hunted down by the Inquisitors. 

Jalaryians have differing views towards technology, specifically technology of native origin. Nearly all pieces of tech is seen as a gift from Grana, who powers it all from the Ascendant Palace on Jalaryias, and as such, revered specific pieces of technology as holy. With such views, the Ascendancy is by far one of the centers of Cybernetic technology.

[hider=The Condemned]
The Ascendancy, like any in the galaxy, suffers crime. Many Star-spanning nations, systems and worlds find their on way to deliver justice. The Ascendancy however, is quite infamous for one particular punishment. The Condemned were once such scum of the galaxy, committing horrid acts best to be left unsaid. Once such Individuals are captured and given trial and proven of their crimes, they are sentenced to "unending servitude" in which they are torn to pieces, and primitive, yet effective weapons and basic technology are grafted and fused with their flesh. In one final act of the sentence, the offender is stripped of their humanity and become nothing more then mindless drones made as cannon fodder.

The Ascendancy's Ecclesiarch-class are state-of-the-art warships over a kilometers in length(fifteen hundred meters to be exact). The Ecclesiarch is armed with an array of plasma-based batteries, torpedoes and missile launchers, it can house up to 160 fighter craft and dozens more of other assorted craft, making the Ecclesiarch a carrier not to underestimate.

The Ascendancy Peace and Enforcement Corps is responsible for both the defense and policing of the Ascendancy's territories and holdings. They are tasked with defending and keeping the civilian population under control from threats both internal and external. Whilst they're less heavily armed and equipped then their Military counterparts, the men and women of the APEC are more then capable to respond to any incident with vigilance and are not a force to be taken very lightly.

Agents of the Inquisition, Inquisitors are giving the vital task of keeping order within the Ascendancy and are root out any who would endanger it, be they heretics and apostates, or root out corruption in the military and clergy, none are safe from the ever watchful gaze of Agents of the Inquisition, however the organization itself is far from immune from the corruption that it vigilantly hunts, and some Inquisitors are all too aware of that fact.

One could easily identify an Inquisitor by their main choice of gray, white or black clothing, Inquisitors share no common uniform, rather share the color most commonly associated with the organization.

Stormtroopers form the military forces of the Inquisition. Equipped with sleek armor and their own personal armory and with moderate cybernetics, the Stormtroopers serve as elite shock troops and as enforcers. And especially in times of are and unrest, they along with the Inquisitors often serve as morality and Political officers within units they are assigned to, and are to keep a watchful eye.

The Grana Knights, along with the Ascendant Guard, are the most fiercest and remarkable forces at the Ascendancy's disposal. What truly separates the Order from all other branches are those who fill the ranks and recruitment method. Grana Knights are "Spirits" of former warriors who had faithfully served Grana in the centuries, these "Spirits" of these long dead warriors are then re-purposed and are giving new life with robotic bodies to once again serve Grana and to be among the ranks of the Order.

The advanced cybernetics enhance their strength and thus are stronger then most fit men.
