However... One: the vampire wants to avoid the human at all costs - not because he is interested in her, but the fear to hurt people and break a promise with someone else... Two: the human is curious about the vampire and wants to get to the bottom of all his odd behaviors, but will she be able to accept the existence of such supernatural beings into her life so readily, just like Bella Swan? Meanwhile, an increase of strange murders and cases of missing people has sent a ripple of terror across this quiet suburb area on the outskirts of the French-Canadian city. Rumors about a phantom serial killer float around in the cool air of Eisbeulf, and the residents are living in fear. Some clues make the human can't help but suspect the vampire; on the other hand, the newborn has to find a way to clear his name, before the Volturi sets foot here and destroys everything... What's going on? Who is the culprit behind all this queer happenings?

L O R E

< The World >

Eisbeulf
A small, secluded suburb town near the majestic Laurentian mountain range in the southern part of Quebec, Canada, Eisbeulf is one of those 'perfect' places for any vampires to settle down for a longer stay. Other than its little exposure to direct sunlight due to shorter summer period with longer, bitter cold winter, the quiet town has a pretty small population, though it has increased significantly over the last couple of years. The residents are generally reserved, and they don't interact with each other too much beyond what's necessary. The town has quite a sizeable Asian population, in which most of them are offsprings of the immigration boom to Canada between 1970-1990s. Surrounding Eisbeulf is a lush coniferous forest that stretches on for miles to the mountains towards the north and west with a river cutting across somewhere among the sea of green, and a lovely lake at the southeastern side that freezes over during the coldest months of winter, although residents are recommended not to walk on the ice due to its erratic thickness at different places.
Eisbeulf University
Other than nature enthusiasts who want to enjoy the clean, fresh air from the Laurentians, Eisbeulf University is also one of the reasons for the population increase in the small town. It largely focuses on the sciences; thanks to its close proximity to the Laurentian range, subjects that are related or make use of the natural habitat around them such as Biomedical Science, Zoology, and even non-science courses like Sustainable Design are offered at the institution. In recent years, the college has expanded its programs to draw in more students. The school building design mimics Gothic architecture style, complete with pointed arches and flying buttress. Some said that it was actually reconstructed from an abandoned cathedral built when the French and later the British settled down in Canada during the 1500-1600s.
Lait Écrémé
Translates to "skimmed milk" in French, Lait Ecreme is a modern-style cafe well-known in the town for their special latte art. They offer free internet and have a quiet, homely atmosphere inside, and students can often be found at their tables. It opens from 8 AM to 10 PM daily, and the cafe has three shifts: morning, noon, and evening.
Vampires
Ignoring all the gay sparkling bullshits of Meyer's [s]failed[/s] attempt to break out of the classic Dracula vamps, the more important part about [s]her army of diamond zombies[/s] them is the special abilities certain vampires may acquire after the transformation. These powers are more likely due to amplification of the human's strongest trait from their previous life rather than due to possible side effects from the venom.
