Don't worry, take all the time you need. I've been in this position (one of my friends was very depressed and was actually cutting herself) and it almost ruined our friendship as we didn't talk to each other for months. I'm just lucky she's as forgiving as she is otherwise I'd have cried my eyes out.

I'll be here, ready to go and give you virtual cookies/cake/hugs/whatever the hell you need, I'll give you it. Except money. I can't provide that.
