[@SgtEasy] A Traveler named Spook -- who wears a mask and never showed his face -- arrived to the City of Enn and recruited a bunch of citizens to follow him out of the city. He gave them cages and told them to collect all the dragon-kittens that were roaming a certain area. With that done, he had the PCs help him open a portal to a dark dimension, but the spell went wrong and a giant 3-headed lizard popped up instead. The lizard was defeated and the spell was fixed, and Spook began throwing the dragon-kittens into the portal to their death. The PCs objected, and Spook explained that the dragon-kittens could potentially have a cursed, magical disease. The PCs still objected, so Spook closed up the portal, gave the dragon-kittens to the PCs to take care of, and began to lead them toward Cogswall to find someone who would take care of the dragon-kittens. The group was attacked on the way by tree demons, and Spook was badly injured and his mask was ripped off, revealing that half his face was covered in black crystal. During the fight, one of the dragon-kittens was killed by a tree demon; black crystal encased the dragon-kitten as it died. The rest of the dragon-kittens were left behind in the forest. The tree demons are now infected and showing signs of black crystal growing on them. The PCs have made it out of the woods and are right outside the city of Cogswall; everyone is all right except Spook, who is unconscious. They are now being approached by a robot scout from Cogswall, which accuses them of nefarious intentions.
