Pandora behind the bank Pandora slowly crept closer and closer. Whoever it was there behind the back of the bank were obviously not a professional sneak artist. They had the head lights off but were using a flashlight to find their way towards where the dumpsters were. Suddenly they parked the car. A female hissed from the car "Hurry up or we will be caught." she hissed at the male. "I'm hurrying but I still say adopting him out is a much better idea." the male said as he pulled a pillowcase out of the backseat of the car. He ran to the trash bin where he quickly dropped the pillowcase into the trash bin. 'There! Now I did the horrible deed and feel like a complete heel. I swear that one day I will strangle you for not adopting him out." the male growled back to the female. "I don't give a blanking damn! Just get your fat butt in this car and get us out of here." the female spat back at the male who was getting inside the car. Pandora listened to the couple in horror! It must be a baby that they wanted to get rid of! How cruel can people be? Sure she was dropped off at the orphanage but they had provided well for her. To be dropped into a trash bin is completely unthinkable in her naive mind. Quickly Pandora dialed 911 and reported what she knew. She was told to stay put until the officers had arrived. The officers did arrive and one came over to Pandora while the other one checked out the trash bins. "Are you Pandora deForrest?" he asked. "Yes, sir." Pandora answered with a quiver in her voice. "Officer Jenkins from NYC Police Department. tell me again exactly what you remembered about the conversation of the female and male who dropped the pillowcase in the trash bin." he spoke with a certain no nonsense air of an officer who had been in the police force for quite a few years. Pandora repeated what she heard to the office who wrote down it down on the report. Meanwhile, his partner had pulled out the pillowcase and opened it up. He smiled as he took out a tiny black kitten. He brought the kitten over to where Pandora and Officer Jenkins were standing. “Excuse me but I found the pillowcase that had the male baby in it. It is very much alive and well.” he spoke as he held out a black kitten. “That was the baby that the couple were referring to? Ma’am, did you hear anything about a kitten” Officer Jenkins asked. “No sir but if no one wants the kitten, I’ll be glad to adopt him.” Pandora spoke softly as she looked into the kitten’s orange and green eyes. “I never saw a kitten with orange or green eyes and this kitten has one of each! He is so precious.... how could anyone ever throw such a cutie in a trash bin?” “It happens quite often and normally it is a whole litter of unwanted kittens. If you want this kitten, you must take him to the vet and follow his instructions. All of the information is on this form.” Officer Jenkins spoke. After Pandora had signed the paperwork, she finally was on her way to the store to pick up kitty supplies then home.
