My sister is asexual, and my mom doesn't understand it at all. She says a lot of really inconsiderate things and doesn't know why they're inconsiderate.
I have a friend who is asexual (but now he lives in Alabama). He opened up to my friends and I and we all took it just fine. We didn't care. I sometimes want to consider myself asexual, but in reality I think I'm just a really, really weak hererosexual... Despite that, the most annoying part about talking about asexuality is when you come across the idiots who think they're smart, saying you can't be asexual "because in biology, it essentially means "independent reproduction." Like, really? The meaning of the prefix "a" is the practically the same thing as "non"... Yet, "Lol no. High school biology says this, and it can't mean anything else whatsoever, therefore I just disproved your sexuality lolololol." It's irritating.
