After months of fruitless attempts by Foreign Minister Aedis Haerk to secure a meeting with Mille-Sessauan officials, his Imperial Majesty Yvor III himself has made a public appeal to our Western neighbor on January 19.  With news of a "Tervasan League" forming to block Survaekom and Sessauan claims, the Emperor called on our fellow Empire -and its ruling Empress- to consider our mutual interests.

"[i]Historically, the Empires of Survaek and Mille-Sessau have stood together as friends to ensure the strength and stability of Tervasa.  Such cooperation is still necessary - nay, even more necessary than before.  I understand and feel for your disappointment at the Terrible War, but allowing these concerns to divide our nations will only serve the interests of Soroya and its anti-Tervasan allies.  It was not Survaek, but its enemies that imposed the degrading division of our continent, feeding fuel to misguided nationalists and opportunists.  Let us not make enemies of one anther, lest we open the door to unbridled Centran meddling with our borders.[/i]"

His Imperial Majesty also recalled the changes in Survaekom politics since the end of the War.  "[i]Emperor Shayaer has abdicated, his top commanders and advisors resigned: Survaek is under a new administration.  The resulting shift is plain to see.  At home I have called a great conference to reconcile the many factions inside the Grand Empire.  How much more dire is the need for reconciliation internationally!  At home I have restored Survaek's great historical institutions.  How much more crucial is the restoration of Tervasa's historic stability and security![/i]"

Emperor Yvor III ended with a proposal to his fellow monarch.  "[i]Alexandra de Vaille, Empress of the Milleans and the Sessauans, rightful ruler of Samovia: Let us meet, bringing with us our cabinets and our nations' top parliamentary representatives.  In Aville or Byrnis, according to your choice, let us at least consider the possibilities for mutual prosperity and security between the two great Empires of Tervasa.  Aed willing, together we will restore the greatness of our nations and our continent.[/i]"


[center][h3][i]Survaekom Wind[/i] Due to Finish Construction this Year[/h3][/center]

According to high officials overseeing military production, the re-construction of the flagship and pride of the Surv-Vyaez, the mighty [i]Survaekom Wind,[/i] should be complete in less than six months.  Early this coming September, the navy will hold a grand public parade in Byrnis to celebrate the vessel's re-deployment.  Residents near and far are encouraged to attend the spectacle in the ports and beaches of the city.  Survaekom of all ages, but particularly the impressionable young, will have much to gain in pride and confidence from the great display of our noble Empire's restoration as a naval Great Power.

It is of note that the vessel will not be an identical copy of its predecessor: According to the Surv-Vyaez Arms Bureau, it will incorporate several new innovations in naval technology!  Some of these have yet to be announced publicly, but one was shared to IPPS journalists: An additional mount fitted with a big-gun turret, increasing the vessel's firepower by some 30 to 50 percent!  An impressive advance which will be all the more glorious when seen on the finished battleship!

Nor will the [i]Survaekom Wind[/i] be the navy's only vessel of its type.  The Surv-Vyaez is slated to build and deploy the maximum number of ships permitted by the Treaty of Sikea, a full four grand dreadnoughts to lead our nation's proud navy.  Reassuring news for the security of our nation!
