What lies there is only cold despair and a sin called victory, built on the pain of the defeated. All those people who met there have wholeheartedly admitted the evil and foolishness of this act called war. As long as people don't repent and don't regard it as the most evil taboo, then hell will endlessly reappear in the world.

PREMISE
< Introduction >

The Fifth Holy Grail War concluded with yet another failure, and the omnipotent wish-granting device - the Lesser Grail - was once again destroyed near the end. Two successive magical battle royales had pretty much left Fuyuki City in a devastating state that would take another decade or two to rebuild itself...or worse, left to rot in the remnants of the curses that overflowed from the Grail and razed the earth. Sadly, the horror of Fuyuki City was nowhere enough to stop the limitless greed of human beings - especially the mages - to restart the deadly experiment... One: the elimination of the Three Houses - Tohsaka, Makiri and von Einzbern - only meant new bloods would take their place and rule over the magical community, noble family or not. Two: the Mage's Association had chosen a new workshop to revive the bloody summoning ritual known as "Heaven's Feel", in preparation for another Holy Grail War... This time, it would be set in the small city of Helsburg, situated between Brooklyn and Manhattan. Three: the possibility of summoning fictional Heroic Spirits as shown in the previous war by Medea of Caster Class had the mages wondering... Could this repeated cycle of failure be changed if they tried to summon heroes from a virtual world instead of the real? "I ask of you: are you my master?" Now, let the new Holy Grail War begin.

OVERVIEW
< Quick Notes >

Style --- High-Casual to Advanced
Size --- Small Group (max 4 excluding GM)
Genres --- Fandom, Anime/Manga, Fantasy, Modern, Psychological Horror, Deconstruction
So, a crossover game idea between two of the most popular Japanese game franchises - Fate/stay night and Final Fantasy - what kind of blasphemy is this? Well, obviously double the epicness...and be doubly mind-blown. Anyway. While this is a crossover roleplay idea using the Fate universe as the basis, you do not necessarily need to marathon through the whole anime series or even get your hands on the visual novel game - the GM will do the summarized write-ups of the terminology etc. relevant to this game in the lore section, and rest assured that references with canon will be kept at the minimum...or none at all. (If you want you can read up the canon stuff on the Type-Moon wikia in your own free time.) On the other hand, you will be required to have a good understanding of FF - reason for this will be explained below. Character wise, you are expected to double: an original character for the Master role, and a canon character from the FF games for the Servant role. It's very much character-driven and interaction-heavy with plenty of rooms for character and relationship development, so be prepared that you may be required to do lots of collaborative writing. Do expect instances of character deaths - if you're the wimpy type who can't stand blood and dark psychological themes, or those prideful kind who can't stand the idea of your character getting brutally killed (maybe not the Master, but at the very least the Servant has to die), you might not be suitable for this roleplay. I know that there's a total of 7 Servant Classes according to the Fate lore, but I prefer to start small first while the remaining are filled up by NPCs - never been a GM before, so I'd need to gain some experience before I'm ready to go bigger. Do note that this is only a PRE-Interest Check. I'm not planning to start this game anytime soon until I can truly make more free time out of my erratic schedule, but I'm putting this up just to see if there's anyone who is interested in this game idea. I will notify those who are interested when I'm ready to roll this out officially.
