Marabelle lingered by the front door after the doctor left, her fingers toying with her wedding ring. “He doesn’t have high hopes for her but doesn’t want to say anything, it’s written all over his face.” Grimacing, she stared up at her husband. “What the hell did they do to her?” Giving her head a small shake, she closed her eyes briefly, trying to push back the guilt she felt. All of this happened because of decisions she made.
