He would play his video games and talk about how much ass he would kick in a real zombie apocalypse. When he got his wish, that confidence faded fast. He still puts up a strong front from time to time, but it’s entirely to reassure himself, and his resolve is quick to shatter when put to the test. It is for this reason that he is cautious, overly cautious in most situations, which means that he’s not apt to accomplish a whole lot. Jaime comes off as meek, and he is. In the world of the walking dead, his mind is so focused on the pressures of not dying that the pressures of regular socialization can get to him far too easily. That said, his mind is always racing, always working on something, even if it isn’t something that’s actually going to get done. He prefers to go unnoticed by any group he’s in. Other people can take the limelight, and they’re welcome to it. If it means that he doesn’t get the attention of the walkers, or worse yet other survivors, then by all means. Habits: Sprinkles Spanish words into English, sucks on his lips when nervous, blabbers about irrelevant details when put on the spot Hobbies: Reading anything and everything he can possibly get his hands on, playing his handheld Nintendo DS (when charge is available), running and reflex challenges Fears:

Being turned on by his “friends”
Butterflies. Each full clip counts as one, each box of ammo must have listed how many bullets in each. (Keep it reasonable. I will keep these things very limited - no debating.) A bit antsy, he rolled his cart down the junk food aisle, grabbing whatever looked tastiest at the time, until he was ready to check out. Once he pulled his cart up to the checkout lane and had about half of his sugary sweet snacks rung up, he noticed a large man limping into the store. Normally this wouldn’t be the sort of sight to concern Jaime, but see, the thing about it was that the limping man just happened to be dripping blood from his face, so you can understand why that would grab his attention. It was even more shocking when, after ignoring the front entrance security, the large man grabbed hold of a nearby young woman and proceeded to tear her throat out with his teeth. For a few short moments Jaime stood there, staring and aghast at the horror transpiring before him, until his instinct for self-preservation kicked in and he ran. History Before Outbreak: The birth of Jaime Rafael Bishop was not an event of great importance or notably unusual. His father, one August Bishop, and his mother, Claudia Alvarez, had a lovely whirlwind romance at the young age of 20 and 18, respectively. For the first year, the house was just fine, but as time went on in old San Anton, it became increasingly clear that the two had jumped into something that wasn’t going to work out in the long run. When young Jaime was but a month shy of his second birthday, his parents agreed to an amicable separation, with August pursuing his career as a news journalist in Seattle and Claudia staying home to raise Jaime with her parents. As a young child, Jaime was a precocious and adventurous one. He was always running off on his own, hiking trails, jumping off of things you really shouldn’t be jumping off of, all the stupid things children are known to do. Well one day when he was ten, Jaime experienced a bit of an incident while climbing a tree. The thing had to be nearly thirty feet tall, and he was almost to the top! Just then, right before he accomplished his greatest triumph, a small butterfly landed on Jaime’s nose, tickling it juuuuust right. Jaime reacted the same way anyone would at the moment: he sneezed. He sneezed and lost his grip, tumbling all the way down to the ground, hitting every branch as he descended (and lucky too, it slowed his fall enough to save his life)! After leaving the hospital, Jaime preferred to stay indoors, and developed a fondness for computers and games. Over the next several years Jaime was something of a loner. Sure, he had his friends, and good ones at that, but on the ‘verted scale, he was definitely on the “intra” side of things. As such he spent a lot of time at home, learning basic living skills from his madre like cooking. He spent a great deal of time reading, playing games, getting into software, that sort of thing. Hell, Jaime preferred to learn through computers rather than from teachers. At least then he could move at his own pace rather than falling asleep in class from sheer boredom. Well he ended up graduating right on time, and thus it was time for college. Well ok, he didn’t actually want to go, but his mother and grandparents practically forced him into it. Claudia demanded that he make something of himself and that he get a better foundation than she had. For his part, Jaime considered college a waste of his time (a college degree isn’t any better than a high school diploma these days, amigo), but his family was paying for it so he shut the hell up and took off for Boston, where he earned his associates in computer science and was planning on staying until getting his doctorate but, well, America decided that just wasn’t destined to happen. History Since Outbreak: It wasn’t long after Jaime’s first encounter with the walker at the super-market that the media started reporting on the things. His mind racing, he clung to every bit of information he could find and processed it all. Once he had determined what exactly that was and what he was going on, Jaime’s confidence shattered. Here he was in Boston, one of the most metropolitan areas in the entire country, and a full on zombie apocalypse was taking place. He had a chance to get in on the ground floor before shit got really real, and what did he do? Did he defend that woman, kick that walker’s ass and become the hero he always envisioned he’d be? No, he ran off with his tail, and piss, between his legs. Well if he was going to vamanos, then he would vamanos back home to San Antonio. Jaime was stopped in his tracks, however, when the local airport shut down before he could board the last flight out. To make matters worse, he didn’t have a driver’s license, so driving back was out of the question. Not to be so easily dissuaded, Jaime grabbed what supplies he could and determined that he would make it back to Texas or bust. He didn’t bother calling his madre ahead of time. She would only take that as a sign to come and get him and he wasn’t going to let that happen. For his first year Jaime backpacked across the country, getting rides where he could, but society quickly fell into disarray and, eventually, completely collapsed. It wasn’t that long before Jaime had to worry more about the living than the dead. He learned to approach others with caution, tail them first, from a distance, to see what kind of people they were before engaging with them. Sometimes this worked out in his favor. Other times, well, let’s just say that Jaime got really good at running away. The first couple groups Jaime traveled with were decent enough folk. They watched out for him and he appreciated it. They ended up splitting paths, just heading down different trails, but Jaime would like to meet up with them again. The third group he traveled with though, things didn’t work out as well as before. This group was demanding, kept telling Jaime that he wasn’t contributing enough, not “earning his keep.” They got rather pissed when they had to defend him from a walker that had him cornered. After that, they kicked him out, saying they wasted a perfectly good bullet saving nothing but dead weight. Distraught and bent, but not broken, Jaime completed his journey back home near the end of his first year in this strange new world of death, only to find that home was gone. He couldn’t find any trace of his madre, abuelo, and abuela. For the first time in a long while, Jaime’s emotions returned to him and he broke down into tears, staying a week in his old house before setting on the dusty trail again. During his second year, traveling had become incredibly more difficult. There weren’t nearly as many working cars, more obstacles littered the paths, and of course, people were even bigger assholes than before. Rather than approach people, Jaime decided that it was time to completely avoid others altogether. Less chance of being hurt that way. So when he came across another group, or a small settlement, Jaime went around, he avoided them at all costs. By this point he had gotten very good at running very quickly for long periods of time, so he decided it was time to work on the next step to his best survival strategy: he would try to maneuver around obstacles as quickly as possible. Parkour, he knew it was called. Luckily some of his youthful rambunctious traits kept well enough that he could learn quickly. Well that, and keeping yourself alive is one hell of a motivation. Even that wasn’t enough, though. Jaime was becoming paranoid, and not without reason. One setback to traveling alone as opposed to in a group was that he had nobody to watch his back, to keep him alive at times like sleeping, and eating, when he wasn’t secure or able to run. He eventually came across a biblioteca, a library. Realizing how great of a boon this was, Jaime began pouring over books related to survival and learned a great many things he had never thought of before, the most pertinent of which was establishing a perimeter, and setting up traps. As the third year of outbreak began, Jaime continued to wander aimlessly, desperately missing human contact, but never putting himself forward when he found some. That changed one day when he was found raiding a stash of food that belonged to another group, though he was unaware of that fact. The majority of the group wanted to string him up and leave him for the walkers, but their leader refused. He asked Jaime what his skills were, and once Jaime told him, the manlet Jaime stay with their group. Though for the first few weeks most of them still wanted him dead for being a dirty rat thief, Jaime found that he appreciated just being around people again. Until, once again, shit hit the fan. The group was set upon by a whole hoard of walkers, but unlike the last time when Jaime had to be defended, it was everyone else that needed his help. But what could he do? He had no gun, no melee weapon, and to jump into the fray would be complete suicide. He did the only thing he could do. He survived. Jaime has now been wandering, aimlessly and without purpose, for three months. Once again he has made contact with a group of people, this time out of sheer desperation, hoping to redeem himself in some way, but it’s not the kind of group he’d like to be with. There is no camaraderie, no respect, and he’s pretty sure that at least one of them tried to use him as a meat shield at one point, but what else is there? Maybe he can jump ship if he finds anyone else. Until then... If it weren't for the fact that Jaime was so desperate for human contact, he wouldn't willingly spend even an iota of his time around Richard. That said, the thug has his uses. He's good in a brawl, and that shotgun is nothing to sneeze at. When it comes to fucking up some walkers, Jaime couldn't ask for a better badass. He just wishes that the badass didn't think that he was expendable. As things stand now, Jaime is too reclusive and understated to try making anything like that happen. From what he's seen, Dexter embodies the terrors of what this world does to people: A once lax and easy going guy that can be surprisingly violent and even derive enjoyment from all this shit. This genuinely scares Jaime, but he acknowledges the necessity of such an attitude from time to time. Besides, Dexter provides Jaime with good, fresh ingredients for meals. That's the best partnership he's has ever since...
