Those would be ideal but it wasn't like his hopes could turn into reality just because he wants to.

He then looked at the pairing, Liz and Jane. The two were acting weird somehow but he wasn't sure why. He was oblivious like that. However, Jane did ask a question and, although he doubts he would be going as well since someone has to hold down the fort, he felt the obligation to answer it. Or at least, that's what they usually do when there are two scavengers and then two scouts, with the pairs being one scavenger and one scout. But this was an inexperienced person so the same rules can't apply lest they want to get in trouble.
