[@ProPro] Ten years of being slaves is a perfect excuse for everyone to be in decent shape, yet not enough to overpower those aliens you mentioned. There's also the matter of developing characters. Is life just getting up and working and then going home? Do they know the meaning of entertainment or friendship? I know it's a work in progress but based on that, I feel like my options for making a character are limited.
