A gift out of control is a danger to the wizard as much as it is to the world. George’s gift was very much out of control when it burned down a city block. That she was allowed to live, was given a second chance meant that she wasn’t going to complain too much when she was shuffled off to meet her new master who would teach her to control the fire that lived inside her. But he wasn’t expecting her and moreover he wasn’t happy to have her there. But beggars couldn’t be choosers and she was determined that no one else would get hurt because of her lack of control. Control was not exactly what she found as she faced off against a nest of red-court vampires who developed a taste for her blood.
