If it makes you feel any better, Flux doesn't really have any connections himself, although I will admit that is because I knew he was a shoe-in and designed him so that he could be where ever he needed. Also, the feeling of being left out is just another thing you can do in character, as well as being the voice or reason whenever the rest of them are being hormonal, angsty shits.
