Matsumoto
The final bell rang. Just like it always did. Days like these, you just wanted to sleep in. Make it your day, not someone else's. Do the stuff you wanted to do. Not homework. But I was getting carried away. I grabbed my coat off the back of my chair and rose. Lit club was today, and I definitely couldn't be late. It was activities like these that made student life at least somewhat bearable. Today we were gonna take a look at Tolstoy. War and Peace. I hadn't even finished the damn thing, book was like a tank. I draped my coat over my shoulders. Made no sense to wear it; too hot in the hallways anyway. Outside, now that was another story. The conversations around me flowed like a river. Friends meeting friends, classmates making new friends, same ol' same ol'. Life in high school was like that. Lit club was held in the library down the hall. Always there, same time every week. Soccer club immediately the next day, at the field outside. Stuff to keep a man's life regular. Scheduled. I think I'd go mad without it. With a toothpick in my teeth, I strolled out the classroom. Club wasn't due to start for another few minutes. I could take my time. Stroll my way there, take in the atmosphere. Just another day at school.
