It spawned when he was in a muggle kindergarten class - there was another Elijah in the room and, in order to differentiate between the two, Elijah became EJ while the other Elijah managed to keep his name [sub]which was so not fair[/sub]. It stuck with him at school up until he left muggle education at the age of eleven.[/indent][/indent]

At first, Elijah was rather pissed off about it and tried to fight the bullies, but when that caused ten points to be deducted, Elijah decided on another tactic. Instead, he embraced Ellie in order to show that nothing would bother him and eventually it stopped being a teasing term and became a full-on nickname. Now it's a term that most teachers, friends, and acquaintances call him in a friendly way and Elijah doesn't mind it anymore.[/indent][/indent]

[indent]As a child, Elijah was hilariously small – he was the shortest of the class (even among the girls) and got tired quickly in gym class. His skinny shortness made him the butt of most jokes during school and he was bullied a lot for his stature, which was considered “feminine.” However, with puberty came growth spurts, and Elijah had an abundance of growth spurts. By his third year at Hogwarts, Elijah was of average height amongst the students. Nowadays, Elijah stands on the taller side of his classmates – though he isn’t necessarily the tallest – and he stands at an impressive 6’1” feet. He still retains a slight amount of lanky skinniness, but in recent years has been trying to add a little bulk in his bones – it shows in his broad shoulders and biceps as well in his hard abs. 

Elijah is half Cherokee, on his father’s side, and Anglo-Saxon on his mother’s side – however, he mostly takes after his mother. However, Elijah did inherit his father’s frame – his long neck and tall, lanky frame as well as the slight curl and fluffiness of his hair. From his mother, Elijah inherited her lightly tanned skin and her thick wide lips. He even possesses the same jaw line and nose, those the piercing brown of his eyes are from his father’s side of the family. 

When it comes to the upkeep of his appearance, Elijah is noted for having a carelessness about him. His hair is hurriedly brushed through and manic with the curls sticking from his head in a mop of a mess and every now and then a mustache and beard will grow because Elijah’s too lazy to shave. When studying or reading, Elijah wears his wide glasses which add a weird eccentric vibe to him. His clothes are rather simple: t-shirts or flannel paired with jeans or sweat pants that hang loosely on his hips.

Elijah is a person whose feelings are easily read on his face: if he’s bored, his face is exaggeratedly bored; if he’s sad over spilled milk, it looks as if his grandfather died; if he’s happy over a good grade, it’s like someone said yes to his marriage proposal. That being said, Elijah has the best of expressions and is a professional at entertaining others with his wide range of emotional facials.

No cat can defeat him in napping - he moves for no one. Of course, unless a newcomer were to appear and then Noodle would up and disappear, not able to be found unless he wants to be as he is extremely shy and easily scared. He hates living in a cage, and likes to sleep in Elijah's bed with him at night - because of this, Elijah potty trained him and leaves the cage open for when Noodle has to go. Noodle got his name mainly from the fact that he's so lazy, that if Elijah were to lift him, he'd remain limp.
