Her natural hair colour is a mousey blonde and her hair has been almost every colour it could be before she settled on purple. It's hard work keeping the colour bright though and Harper has to reapply colour to it every 2-3 weeks. She uses a mixture of purple shampoos and dyes to keep it looking the way it does. Harper is very slim, has been described as petite often. She is one of those people who don't need to worry about their weight or what they eat. She struggles to ever gain weight, instead remaining at the size she is. Harper likes to keep her makeup minimal, but always moisturises and has a good lip gloss. Her fashion varies depending on what she is doing. In her personal life, she wears a lot of black or dark clothing, but on stage she wears all sorts of bright colours. Most of her clothes are from markets or second hand shops and then Harper has sewn sequins on or altered them to look nicer and more upmarket. Harper prefers dresses and tights over pants of any kind. She usually performs in bare feet, but otherwise wears platform heels or wedges, never stilettos. Personality Harper is outgoing, extroverted and this comes across well on stage. She doesn’t really dance but she doesn't think she needs to. She enjoys performing and likes to have fun with fans and members of the audience. She enjoys people and can often be the life of the party. Harper is creative and she gets excited about new ideas and projects. She is comfortable in unfamiliar situations, finding it easy to go with the flow. She can be wild and crazy, spontaneous but also impulsive and unconventional. Harper can be a risk taker or a thrill seeker and she likes to break the rules. She finishes most things she starts, but not always. She tends to shy away from confrontation unless it is in her best interest to argue a point. She doesn't have many friends, but the ones she does have, she considers family. It can be hard to get to know Harper well because she is often not taking life too seriously.
Music Career Leader Singer of [band] Role Lead Vocalist Inspiration Jemima - A female solo artist who caused scandal when she broke away from girl group Glitter because she didn't think she was being true to her own musical style. Olivia Smythe - another female solo artist who hasn't quite made it big, from Harper's home town.
Likes/Advantages Harper would consider herself an alternative artist. She doesn't really fit into the pop genre or rock. Her voice is quite unique, the kind that when you hear it on the radio, you know who the artist is straight away. Harper likes spending time at the beach, it's where she writes most of her music. She is teaching herself guitar and piano, so she can make more music organically. Harper prefers winter to summer and she likes going for walks in the rain. She also likes caffeine because it keeps her going when she is on an all-nighter writing. Harper enjoys working with other artists, especially in different genres because she is always learning. Dislikes/Disadvantages Harper doesn't like people who only care about themselves, or their possessions. She also doesn't like people who are only in it for the fame. Harper is afraid that she will never be remembered for doing anything important in life. This is what lead her to want to sing in the first place. She likes the thought that music will live on forever. Harper sometimes suffers from writer's block with her music and she can get very frustrated. Harper also has a dislike for salad, because, let's face it, life is too short to eat salad. Background Harper was born in a town of southern coast England. Her family consisted of three children and Harper was the middle child. When Harper was 4, her father left the family to move to America and start a new life without them. Harper's mother struggled as a single parent for a few years, before meeting someone new, who she eventually married. Harper's step father already had two children of his own, so Harper gained two more older siblings, a stepbrother and stepsister. Harper went to a local primary school and started attending a local grammar school. At age 14, her parents decided they wanted to move overseas, to New Zealand. Harper didn't have any choice but to go with them. Her two older step-siblings stayed in England with their mother, but Harper and her brother and sister, moved with their mother and stepfather to the South Island of New Zealand. Harper finished high school in New Zealand, and then at age 18 moved back to England. She moved in with her stepsister and began working in a pub, waitressing and working behind the bar. Every week the pub would have a karaoke night, which Harper enjoyed taking part in. She eventually began writing songs and saved up some money to pay for some studio time.
