“Well,” Rebecca said as she watched the Dratini leave. “It’s nice to know that diplomacy is still an option. Nice work, Nina.” Rebecca rolled the information over in her head as she went along. If it didn’t really care about whether it won or lost, it probably had a lot of reserves, and she didn’t consider it to be too big of a stretch to say that it can influence just about any wild pokemon in any “mystery dungeon” and that it just might be what’s causing them to appear in the first place. She made sure to write that down, just about finishing her notes when Dexter asked for clarification on the issue of their pay. “Wait,” Rebecca said, stopping after she regained her composure, “Did you guys get an advance payment in your old team? Because Nina took that job for us, and it was super nebulous and dangerous, and we almost died, and we did not see any money before we started. I guess we could make a case that we’ve found out what’s causing the Mystery Dungeons now, though, or at least found some pretty telling signs, so I think if we ever found that guy again, I could totally negotiate our way to a proper amount of money.”
