She didn't notice Liz come up at first. She saw her after a minute, but everything felt like she was underwater. She could hear the blood rushing in her head that sounded like water in her ears. "Hey." Did she hear that right? It sounded so garbled.

She didn't hear her at first. It felt like ages until she replied. 

She shook her head a bit to attempt to clear the watery sloshing of blood in her ears. "Yeah... I'm alright. Can I get you something?"

Mentally kicking herself for being so nonchalant about it, she put her elbows on the counter of the bar, waiting for an answer.
