[@VKAllen] Now on to my final point, writing a backstory for a tabletop rpg. I have seen a mix of good and bad practices from everyone here so far. You have some freedom in making generic points in your backstory like 'parents killed by griffin' and such. What is not all that ok however, is making assumptions that, for example, entire swathes of the setting are dominated by virulent tiefling racism. Sure, the rules state tieflings are rather distrusted by the general populace. But the way i've seen it described is more a mob with torches and pitchforks reaction rather than the implied universal cold shoulder the rules gives us. Also, feel free to leave some strategic holes in your backstory for the GM to fill in. Using my own character as an example, I've said he's a suspected bastard from a minor noble family. I've left the details of the matter purposefully vague so the GM can expand upon it on their own accord if they ever feel inclined to do so. well then, if anyone wants any clarification to the points I made, feel free to ask me either here in the OOC or in a PM. I'll now be waiting for a GM post.
[@Natsucooldude] About sionnie's bio. I have offered to have it changed more than once for the Gm in which it has been refused... In almost every setting drow, half – orc,and tiefling have not been well recieved by the other races and yet had it been a problem that I assumed it would be the same here I offered to fix it multiple time in each I was told " NOTHING NEEDS TO BE CHANGED“. This leads me to believe the the setting here for tiefling is simular to forgotten realms and the other settings. So forgive if I am rude but your statement seems redundant. If the Gm has a problem with the way sionnie is received I will change it but thus far this offer has been declined every time. This leads me to think that you personally are the only one who dislikes my tiefling. I really do not know why but I want to fix that! The highlighted statement above proved my assumption further because when a half -orc walks in a city the are typically snickered at and given a cold shoulder, and a dark elf (read legend of Drizzt) typicaly given the coldshoulder and constantly turned away, but as you just said tiefling are typically welcomed by a mob with intent to kill them for no better reason than the have horns! With your statement I could assume that not only is there racism towards tiefling but it is even more violent for them than any other race! And here i thought Dark Elves had it the hardest... Secondly sionnie leaves plenty of her backstory undiscovered.. We know she was abducted when young and horribly experimented on. But by who? Why? I said they wanted to bring out the demon in her blood, to unlock hidden infernal power, but why? What do they have to gain? Maybe it was the Cult of Ashmordie.. That might make since but who really knows what our Gm might come up with. Sionnie does not even remember where she is from or her last name, or even her parents who could still be out there and alive.. Sionnie is one mystery to solve after another, if the Gm wants us to discover her past.. Then he may set up an adventure for her. But I think there is plenty to work with right here..
