[@RiverMaiden] It attacks the soul in that part of the body meaning the sufferer lacks the animus to use it properly. Aurora effectively has a dead wing and dead leg in the literal meaning of the word except they aren't going to fall off or start rotting and are in fact physically fine.

In order to regain use of them you'd need something to restore the soul, a stimulant for the physical body wouldn't be of any use as the blade can't do any physical damage.
