Well, if you go off his tone and what not, it can be guessed. Also if you consider her age, you'd think she'd be able pick up some things and the ways of demons with certain personality traits act. Blair is merely assuming, not like she knows what hes thinking or anything. It's just that she's the type to trust no one and the fact not many want to be around her (especially those who had experienced her in berserk mode), so that comes into play here.

 Being a general and one of her age, I'd assume those things come naturally with experience. But that said, power hungry types are easy to read. They're always up to something to increase their power and status. All in all, merely speculation. :p
