Alex growled quietly. "Nyaira. You know I'm not interested in whatever you have to say. I left that life a long time ago. Now if you'll excuse me, I have things to do." He stood up and, somehow, moved around her to get out of the booth, left some money on the table to pay for his and Victoria's meals and then headed for the door. He knew things were going on, he knew there was going to be a massive attack, he knew everything was going to fall apart, but he didn't expect Nyaira to just randomly show up in a public place. Of course there was a small part of him, part of him that he had buried a long time ago, that was beginning to stir now that he was faced with Nyaira in a social situation. A part of him that was no more than an animal. A part of him that lusted for the chase, capture and kill. But he would never give in to that instinct again.
