I do not mean to be difficult but Sionnie intentionally does not use a bow hence, she could not fire and arrow... it would more likely be a thrown dagger and i am a rogue, rogues are supposed to go for the insta-kill. That is why i play them. i meant to assassinate him, or something of the sort due to the fact i am not a level three rogue.. I don't know, it just seems out of place for Sionnie. We have two perfectly good archers, Sionnie was meant to be a close quarters assassin. I also chose to focus on my acrobatics and stealth to give me a strong dodge, hide, sneak, speed, and mobility bonus.. i know we are level one but i assume the mobs are two so why is it that i can not get close with two archers to cover me and an illusionist to draw off the attention? I understand if i can not get close.. but at least let me throw a dagger through the back of the bandit's head.. then at least i achieve the same result as planned and i kill him.
It all comes down to the roll of the dice, and your positioning and limitations. You must work with it. You have items at your disposal at which allows you to deal high damage at both a distance and melee. If you're referring to DnD as the DDO version, then this will be a completely different experience as everything is detailed, systematic and followed en pointe. Your damage is based on weaponry and your defence is based on your armor class. No matter how good your acrobatics, athletics is, it is used in ability checks and does not directly impact combat. Every weapon has its stats. One slightly better or worse than another. They also have their effective range and maximum (with disadvantage) range. I have chosen the best possible course you could've taken in this situation as you are unable to move in behind the Bandit Leader (with his two guards beside him) and deliver a melee attack. The best you could've done was get in his face using Dash an action and you won't be able to attack. From that position, you would also be rained with bolts and impaled in more than one orifice by the bandits.
