Personal Style: She is an adorable creature at first glance during the daylight hours. Her whole face is fairly petite and cute but her eyes are slightly larger than what one might initially expect. They very fortunately do not look out of place with the rest of her tiny features though. She prides herself on being presentable at all times, even in her sweats, so her face is generally always made up. Her hair sits just below her jawline and can be seen in various different styles. Generally speaking she leaves it down with either a slight curl in it or completely straight. Cera likes to be comfortable in her down time. She wears the usual sweats, shorts, t-shirts, tank tops, vest tops, hoodies and so forth. She doesn’t mind dressing up when the occasion calls for it in which case she can be found in adorable flats and girly ensembles that vary from skirts to dresses to trousers depending on the dress code. Her work style is more professional looking but she generally wears smart trousers with airy blouses to suit the hotter climate. She doesn’t like to see anyone in pain or discomfort and does all she can to bring a smile into everyone else’s lives. She can be really forgetful though as her mind wanders and thinks at every given moment. She has never learned how to turn her brain off for more than ten seconds which might be one of the biggest causes of her anxiety. She doesn’t do too well in social situations and can come across as really quiet and awkward until you get to know her better. She is very much an introvert in her down time but when it comes to her work she is a driven, passionate individual who will gladly do all that she can to help her students. She can be quite jumpy and easily startled but not in a violent way, thankfully. She just loses track of her words and thoughts in those moments and has to refocus her mind. She has a lot of hobbies due to her introverted nature but is pretty open to talking to people about them if they just ask. She does have her own stubborn side and isn’t easily pushed around, despite how timid she may appear. She just prefers to not rock the boat, as it were. She fell in love with the country and just knew that she wanted to live here and help to teach English to the locals. Her dialect of Scots gave her a small advantage and disadvantage and she took the opportunity that presented itself to her to work in her newfound favourite country. History: Cera was born to her loving parents, James and Holly Thomson, in the city of Glasgow in Scotland. She has an older sister, Clara, and a younger brother, George, and she is pretty content with her family dynamic. Being the middle child of her family, she was used to being overlooked for different things in her life but that was okay with her. Her childhood was good, her family wanted for nothing and they were very happy as a whole. She used to think that her family was boring because of the lack of drama and excitement in their lives. She soon realised how lucky she really was once she grew up and realised how much drama some people actually had in their life. She went through high school with a close group of friends and spent a lot of her time just being a normal teenager, working hard in school and finding where she fit in the world. Her family went on a lot of holidays and she began to realise how much she really loved discovering new lessons and languages. That is when she realised that teaching and foreign languages was what she had to do with her life. This was going to be her future career path, without a doubt. When she went off to university, she grew distant from her friends from high school and become slightly more reclusive. The stress and strain of university life without the social releases that students usually took part in caused Cera to develop anxiety and mild depression. She knew it was her own fault though for losing touch with her friends and she decided to make a change in her life, hopefully for the better. Between her Bachelor degree year and Honours degree year, Cera took a gap year and started to travel the world on her own. Her parents and siblings were worried that she wouldn’t be safe but she knew what she was doing. She needed to do this for herself. To start, she spent a couple months in the US where she took a road trip from West Coast to East Coast, then she flew to Portugal and made her way from there through Spain, the South of France, North of Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, then Sweden and Norway. From there she took a flight to South Africa, then Thailand and finally… India. There were so many more countries that she wanted to visit but she only had limited time and limited funds. She spent her final month, and the last of her money, in New Delhi. When she returned home, her attitude had changed but her anxiety still remained. She refused medical help for it but she felt better than she had before she had left. Her depression being gone was enough for her and she rationalised with herself that everyone suffered from anxiety. She didn’t need any more help. She told her parents that she wanted to move country and teach English as a foreign language. They weren’t very surprised and supported her decision. They gave her the proviso that they would give her some financial help with the move so long as she completed her final year of university. She agreed. Her final year of study went by quickly, her whole life had an even further and exciting goal now. She came second in her class and graduated with her Honours degree. She was sad to leave her family behind but she knew that this was what she wanted to do. She was successful in obtaining a position in a community college style establishment in Jaipur, India. It had been two months since she had arrived and she was still finding her feet in this new life she had started.
