Lily She felt the hand on her shoulder and caught the note just in time. She jerked up to look if the teacher was watching but she was far too engrossed in her book to be bothered with them. She let out a long sigh. She was done anyway. She pulled her knees up and wrapped her arms around them as she read the note. You should see how angry I was when I received it... But... I'm fine now. Forgive me for being so sour mostly around you back in Parinthion. I wish things were better for the both of us in the coming days. Although... I still miss her. Wish she'd be here. ...She? Lily sat there for a moment, contemplating the meaning behind the words. Then it hit her, like a tidal wave. Her heart sunk. Shira... Her first friend. She sat, staring at the note for what seemed like hours before she managed to pull the note back up to read the rest of what he'd written. And here we are passing messages like the first time we met her. How was she supposed to respond to that? All it wanted to make her do was crawl up in a ball and wish that she could change the past. She sat there, again, for a few moments in silence, thinking. She needed to get over this... She needed to move on. It was high time she did. Maybe that was part of what she needed to do here. Face her past and learn how to move on into the future. She closed her eyes and then leaned over her knees to pick up her pencil and write back. I cannot tell you how much I want to curl into a ball and just wish the past away but... I know that what has happened will never change. I think it's high time I... we all moved on and focused on the future. And... yes. It seems passing notes has a way of building friendships even if they've been a bit broken for a while. I'm glad to see you're okay, Himura. She sat for a moment, trying to think of anything else she could add... Oh, and how are you and Andromeda? I saw the two of you earlier today. She looked down at the note in her hand and smiled. Maybe they could move on. Maybe life could be normal once again. Well, whatever sort of normal they had before. Back when it was all blissful innocence and fun. She smiled and folded the note back up with care. She watched for the teacher but again, she was too engrossed in her book now to even notice. Besides, Lily was done now. It wasn't... great. But it was something. She passed the note back to Himura's desk and sat looking at her paper. Maybe... She smiled and pulled out a piece of paper. On it, she drew a picture of all of the friends she'd had and no longer see. Shira, Xanthus, Kitty, John, Xavier... She even drew herself. They were stick figures but still. At the top, she wrote, 'The past is the past.' And at the bottom, 'It is time to pave way for the future.' And she drew a road with a small question mark at the end of it. Yes... It's time to move on.
