He's using guides on the internet. He's never actually [i]done[/i] this before, though he has theoretical knowledge of the chemicals and processes involved due to his specialization in alchemy.

Also it is [i]frighteningly[/i] easy for the average person to make a bomb after spending just a few minutes perusing the internet. The usual problems are (a) not blowing yourself up (Wes is well aware of the dangers posed by the chemicals needed to create these and would/will be careful not to get too rough with anything unstable) and (b) getting caught before the bomb is finished due to your shady as fuck activities, the answer to which is
