I apologize, I told you I was a newb that has only read the books.. As Gm I kind of expected you to teach me.. Let me explain, then tell me how I achieve my desired results in table top. Once I understand I will not be so ticked.. For instance I did not want to use a bow before and yet you forced me too and I let that go. You could have easily replaced the bow with a dart or throwing dagger but you forced a proficiency I did not want. still I let that go before.. Now I was unsure whether my evasion was something I had to roll for but in the books it was a major part of combat for rogues, rangers, bards, and agile fighters.. so if I can just automatically dodge that makes things easier. As for understanding rogue combat I only know how I have played them in mmo's my favorite being Neverwinter. In never winter my rogue focused on critical hits and power stats that made her quiet the glass canon and I had a powerful life steal a stat to keep me alive and drain the mobs dry.. I want to be able to get behind something and stun it, cripple it, bleed it, or kill it the way I have played them in every other game. I though with a 19 I would have enough power to kill him with my backstab and so a gave it a little flavor. If you will learn what it is I want instead of forcing choices on me and show me how to get there, you will find I will cooperate much easier sir. I don't intend to make your job harder, but I think I should get a choice and not have it made for me. I really like the Neverwinter rogue, and they say it was based of 5e in table top so that is what I want. And I really did role a 20, my sister can verify it, saffira is my sister, that is why she gets a little in my case. sorry.
The actions which I had forced upon was due to the fact that several posts had flewn by. Despite the neutral state of that post, I still had to make sure that no others are required to change their post because your post became different when I told you to change. The reason why you had a bow was because Rogues start with a bow, and you never specifically told me that you did not want a bow (but that is also because I have not told you or shown you that you do). Now, you've been researching on how your character will progress in the game by looking up guides and builds. You also told me your experience with the Lore of D&D. You even go as far as researching what weapons you want to receive during your adventures. With all of these research put in for the game, I would've thought that that you had done some degree of research on how Combat works in tabletop. Now, you told me that you've played Neverwinter, but I will cite Natsu again-- DDO (Neverwinter included) is a fool's errand of actual tabletop D&D. Despite of him saying this no one had questioned how Combat worked. Another thing:
Quick mind map for you guys to give you some sort of idea what's around you guys. The red lines indicate the dividing line between the road and forestry. The arrows represent us, and the three in front the enemy (bandit leader is in the middle of course). Please note that the Initiative will be your posting order in terms of carrying out your turn. Other NPCs that are not yours I will control. Be mindful that since we are doing a dice system, an auto hit will be forced on you should it connects. You are NOT required to wait for the result of the previous person's dice roll if you are the next person to post. I will take note and give you the results on the next NPC post. A turn consists of: 1 Action + 1 Bonus Action Movement Action 1 Weapon Interaction You may also do ability checks once per turn (some ability checks will be disadvantaged in battle)
There was no questions raised either. [@justTypical] Kudos to you, sir.
