Well, I think doing a Yokai Watch 1x1 instead might be very likely the way it stands. I don't think I am going to get as strong of a connection with this plot as I initially wanted.  Maybe a fantasy adventure one day that leads us to anything we wish to imagine.  

If you are alright with a Yokai 1x1, I will wish to add a male character so we are even in number.
