It had more of the Injustice vibe to it. Especially after he said that Lois died. So that's what I think happened. Though I cannot deny the Nu52 Earth 2 parallels that were extremely apparent. Though if it was a "future" even that they have to advert, and not an alternate universe (depending on your views on such things) it is possible it could occur in the main film verse but instead is stopped. Which would resolve that problem quite nicely. Though it makes me strongly believe that Darksied will probably show up in the next movie. Which will be interesting to see. But geez.
