As the governor rode upon his black horse with 5,000 auxilia surrounding him, he felt relieved in 3 years he’s his men have been able to keep the barbarians from the gates which would allow Julius to take his escort around the province to garner support for himself and his men. 

Yet, he was also worried what if the barbarians had become rampant and his forces had no way to stop them, luckily before he left the city he had sent word back to the senate for an increase in men if not an all out war, which he would favor as he would be able to expand and his men to follow him.

It is with great pleasure that I inform you all of Lacedonia’s safe keeping and that it was only mere raiding parties which had attacked the outlying villages. Yet, I’m sorry to say our scout have informed us that a large barbarian force has been amassing an the border and is number between 35,000 to as many as 50,000. I’m sorry to say my force of 25,000 total men will not be able to hold back the masses and as such wish to request a legion be sent to better protect your most outlying territory. Though, I hope this finds you well, I would understand if forces were diverted to Delos as they seem to be in just as much trouble as myself. Though I believe the senate would be most devout it if sent aide to both places and show the neighboring empires that the Republic is strong and shall remain so for decades.

Yet one letter he had been sent which interested him far more was from Governor Fermetius, especially as he had never met the man nor did he know much about him. Yet he offer him troops and supplies should the senate allow. This may prove useful and as such he sent his soon to be friend a letter as well.

At least not until now, the current scouts say a barbarian horde amasses on the banks of the river and that their are at least 35,000 of them. If you truly have good will towards myself and the outlying provinces please show your concern to the senate as much as I have they’ll have no choice but to strengthen our borders. Yet one more matter had his attention before he began his governing of the province, specifically that of the recent incursion on the Province of Delos. Much like Lacedonia is a rather outlying province and a backwashed area, yet it has fewer men in it and is much less essential. But no matter the governor would need to show his support as well as show it to his fellow governor.

The nerve the Thecians even have to attack our provinces through mercenaries no less is frightening. Do they think the republic is weak, due to the recent barbarians raids in my province of Lacedonia. I believe we must stand together and inform the republic how vital the outlying provinces are, I’ve already sent word requesting support for my lands and yours if truly needed. Though I fear with some 35,000 barbarians at least, on the borders maybe a larger deal and that they’ll forget about you.
