... Newton died in the 1600's; the first useful locomotive wasn't until the 1800's. Given that I have specified Newton as one of the last to create a relic, yes, it is far too late. The reason for the gap is so that established fact could be treated as superstitious rambling. That doesn't work if the Voids were still a problem in the Victorian era.
