Have you ever seen [i]L'Enfant sauvage[/i]? Because it's literally about a feral child being unable to learn anything by meeting people/being put in academic institutions up until a doctor takes him into his home and teaches him. 



This is also based on a true story so clearly the way to go isn't to put the feral person in a school where he won't understand a thing OR to put him in a lab, but to pawn him off on some unfortunate old doctor and have him sort it out.
