All myths are born from little bits of truth, right? Well, this rare race of "fallen angel" have stemmed all sorts of myths around the world, often connected in some way to supernatural and magical sightings, for good reason. The peoples of this race are all magically inclined though have a special knack for dark and lightning magic making great offensive mages. Appearance:Lye stands at 5'11 with striking red eyes, elven-like ears, and prominent lips. Atop his head lies very fine shoulder length grey hair, slightly below his shoulder blades dark purple and black wings sprout from his back, giving him an imposing visage to some. Personality:Lye is quite cocky and always ready to fight, though this doesn't mean he's violent, just eager to show his strength. He can be quite comical once he gets to know you, or just when he's in a good mood. He isn't afraid to say what he feels, and that's gotten him in some trouble a multitude of times. Lye can be arrogant at times, and he's well aware of this, he does his best to not be, but sometimes he can help it. Abilities:Lye is an offensive mage, excelling in creating constructs made of pure darkness, though this is a very draining ability if Lye goes outside of basic constructs and the ones that he has mastered. Lye must practice extensively to master new constructs. If Lye creates complex constructs that he has not mastered he risks fainting and even losing years off of his lifespan. Lye's father was an excellent ice mage, which is quite uncommon for his race. Lye also had an aptness for this type of magic, though he felt as if the magic "didn't have enough flavor", in Lye's exact words. So, he took this into his own hands and created a new style of cryomagic, combining it with his dark magic to create a unique style of cryomagic utilizing jet black ice. Skills:Lye is an amazing student, excelling in most if not all of his classes, and as said before Lye is a skilled hand-to-hand combatant. Lye's a quick thinker with a silver tongue.. Well... Sometimes, if the situation really calls for it Lye can talk himself out of most things (though he'd prefer to use his magic and fists) but if the situation really isn't that dire, well, then, there's a decent chance that he'll end up trying to talk his way out of the situation and just end up making it worse for himself. Lye can fly at a moderate speed, though not for extended periods of time, though Lye uses his wings more as a tool for combat than actual flight. Brief Backstory:Lye was born to a human mother and an Extenbris father, though his mother died at birth as her body could not handle the stress of giving birth to a baby with non-human blood coursing through their veins. Lye was raised by his father, brought up his entire life to be a mage, but for what reason? Lye wasn't too sure, all he knew was that magic was fun and he had an aptitude for it. His life was pretty uneventful by his standards for the first fourteen years of his life, until certain.. events began to unfold and Lye realized the true reason his father had been so adamant about him becoming a mage, his father and a few other powerful mages of his race made a treaty with a clan of Dark Fae, tainted and corrupt faeries that have an innate ability to corrupt and taint others as they have been. They had deemed humans nothing more than insects, merely to be used as slaves and personal servants for the more "magically inclined" races. They wanted nothing more than to overthrow the human world and had a vicious plan to do so. Lye couldn't believe that his father, a good man and peaceful mage could possibly stand for such a horrific notion. Lye simply couldn't accept that his father had raised him his entire life to be a pawn in their plan of exterminating the human race, at least not of his own free will. Lye studied and studied the clan of Fae in secret, taking careful steps to make sure his father did not find out that he knew. He eventually happened upon a book that described the tainting process of the Dark Fae, and how if an individual spent enough time with one, they too would slowly become more and more like the Fae themselves, and how the ideas that the Fae planted into their minds would become their own. Lye worked restlessly to find a way to reverse this process, and eventually had a breakthrough. He performed a spell on his father while he was sleeping that would temporarily reverse the effects on the mind. Lye explained that they did not have much time and that he had a plan, he explained the plan to his father, but also explained that they would need an extremely powerful spell, of a caliber Lye would not be able to perform, his father stated that he had something that would work, though it would require Lye to perform a small secondary spell to give it effect. The duo went to an abandoned warehouse, where Lye and his father drew runes in small hidden pockets of the warehouse. Lye's father then called a meeting of the most important members of the group, Lye took position and waited for his father to give the signal, unaware of what was about to happen. Lye's father gave the signal by activating the first rune, Lye acted quickly, performing the secondary spell that would activate the other runes, a blinding light quickly overtook the warehouse, and when the light faded, the building was completely covered in ice, Lye rushed into the building, looking for his father, this isn't what he promised, this isn't what he said would happen. Lye's heart was beating out of his chest, what he found made him want to retch, bodies impaled, some even torn apart from the countless shards of ice, and.. And his father on the floor, chest torn open, covered in blood, a sloppy "Goodbye" written in his own blood. His father had promised a cleansing spell! Not.. Not this! Not a gruesome slaughter, dead bodies strewn across the floor. Lye had no choice but to leave, even though this was a magical occurrence doesn't change the fact that there was a mass of dead bodies and a huge flash of light, which cops were most likely notified of, and even more likely, on their way. Lye knew that if he didn't want to end up forever on the run or in cuffs, he had to leave, so he returned home, grabbed a few of his belongings and fled. He ran away as far as he could from his city. Looking for a new life.[/b] [/hider]
