The whole thing was overwhelming to Cody, from the sent of blood, although faint was nevertheless overwhelming to him, to the different people, the number of footsteps, and the light from them all. He felt Gerswhin shudder, and looked over to her, with worry, hoping she was okay. Cody took it all in, absorbing it all, and wishing he was anywhere else. At Agent Dixoides footsteps, alone with many other people, Cody stiffened, looking to the large group. Unlike Gersswhin, he didn't have an issue with looking the group in the eye-of course it was more intimidating for them then for him. As Gerswhin questioned the doctor, Cody grimaced, and sighed softly. 'Your abilities may be linked to pain, Gerswhin, but mine aren't, and they could manipulate you by harming me' he said this softly to her, leaning in closer, appearing to make every effort to say it only softly enough for Gerswhin to her, but he suspected the doctor would consider this an option anyway. He shifted, fully expecting some form of attack on him, as a way of forcing Gerswhin to comply as well as a way of conducting whatever experiments they had in mind now on him. He didn't want to see Gerswhin hurt, so he stepped forward, and spoke. 'leave gerswhin be for now, I'll give you what you want'. It wasn't noble, nor was it even brave. He just didn't want to see his friend hurt, nor did he want to be responsible for her being hurt. So by doing this, he was merely preventing that, even for a little bit. 'But I may not give you the answers you seek. have you ever thought about that, Doctor?'
