Her entire body was starting to ache with the strain of the magic she was executed and she had to let it rest and recharge. Spotting Ebeneezer’s body on the way out she paused, looking at his still-open eyes. Did he deserve such a death, caught in what seemed to be friendly fire? No, he didn’t. None of them did. She bent down to close his eyes and poured some water over his body as a sign of respect. Approaching the tree she was wondering who her friends and enemies were in all this, and hoping that they didn’t know just how incapable of magic she would be for the next few hours.
