The downside of a big broad sandbox game where virtually anything is possible, is accessibility. It's one thing for those of us who have been soaking in this tub for a while... we're used to the temperature, newcomers though? Not so easy. So it's good to have clear accessible entry points for new players to jump on. I get that it's a bit of a disruption/distraction for those of us in here (although we try to give enough warning that players not only are not put out, but can even take the opportunity and thrive from the break and brief time-skip) but it needn't be a negative. Comics and tv get that point of accessibility as well... its why they tend to have clearer points for these breaks where plot elements can easily be described for newcomers to get up to speed.
"Last time on ..."
[@Natty][@Blue Demon][@Defacto][@GreenGrenade] ...and with that said, here's something I think some of you newcomers (and you [@Fallenreaper] who's contemplating a new character) might want to consider: One of the upsides of the time skip that comes with the season break is that if you have a new character, but don't want the hassle of going through the minutiae of character development and ALL of the growing pains along the way... and you'd rather use the ol' montage technique to get them up to speed and some level of competency in a hurry... ...Well, you're in luck! And you can still touch on key moments of that development via flashbacks and other such techniques. But if part of what you want from your character IS going through all of that minutiae and juicy character detail... then yeah, maybe waiting on Season 2 would be best for you. Personally, it doesn't affect me either way and it's up to you... ...but it's something to consider.
All of this. I might be doing this for the character I'm working on right now.
