[@Brink_]Hm, I had taken it that we were AT 1950's era tech with bits and pieces of retro futurism thrown in due to the odd way things developed post war. On the other point, it seems we agree on the basic concept of where civilization devolved but differ in our interpretation of how it progressed from there. See, I had thought a massive undefined event set us back so totally every polity disintegrated into warring tribes and most written information was lost. From there culture evolved by word of mouth even as people forgot the old world, leading to old concepts being bastardized and pre-disaster history becoming mythology. What I'd gleaned from the OP was that it had taken just over a millennium for us to work our way up to the RP and in that time we had a huge history where technology was largely forgotten or seen as magic until it's 'rediscovery' as science began to make sense of what remained allowing us to found the nations we have now. I think we can find a consensus there though, I'm not too set in my ideas. [@Sigma] No problem.
