Jess decided to look for her new partner and feel him out on his work ethic and skill. 

His name as listed was Ro'kun Phillips meaning he was most likely the child of a Japanese mother and an American, Canadian or British father, his father's nationality questioned by his patrilineal last name. Jessica knew she could be wrong about the mother but felt fairly sure she wasn't.

His first name was either his complete name or a nickname due to it's pronunciation. Kun was a suffix like Mr. or Sir and Ro was an 
abbreviation of some Japanese male name though she couldn't remember which it might be.

His call sign was Red Strike and she knew from the pool that he was some type of thermal elemental, a Pyro judging by his playing with fire. What his other abilities were she didn't know other than he wasn't a flyer. 

Maybe he'll agree to wear one of the lift harness that she'd practiced with lifting soldiers at the project who'd volunteered back on Lively Island.
