Something slips around Cara's ankle and pulls her upward, the vine cutting into her skin. Another vine shoots out and Cara swings Scarlet and cuts the vine. A sickening squeal threads the air and the branch with Cara hanging, flicks her to the wall. She hits it, knocking the breath out of her. 
More vines shoot out and she dodges them, swinging upward and cutting them. The thing squeals again and retreats backwards, deep into the hallway.
