It was worded in a way that could mean that he's either out of commission (Unconscious, petrified, limbs broken to prevent him from moving, etc), or actually dead. It's up to interpretations. But if I may be a bit blunt, Snider is just a human, and Gomory is a demon more powerful than anyone present. Add that to the fact that he was badly roughed up by his fight with Fenn, and the cocktail is someone ripe for the picking. It wouldn't take a lot to kill him in his current condition, and a Demon so fast than even half-demons have trouble noticing the movements makes Snider all but completely unable to react at all. So, to be fair, there's enough reasoning. But I don't think he's dead, otherwise it would've been phrased in a far more direct, and less ambiguous, way.
