At that range she was in little actual danger but the point of the shots was just too keep her away, of which they were doing a decent job.  She had to jump to avoid a bullet and made her way to the wooden mast.  Zypha but the wood between herself and the enemy captain as she slid down, back to the ship floor.

She was now in a decent position but until the captain was occupied there wasn't a good spot to charge her enemy.  If she went out now she would be a sitting duck as the captain was actually a decent shot unlike his ex-crew.  Zypha didn't dare peek out yet, so she concentrated on listening while she waited for her chance to attack.
