Interacting With: No one. A snort woke Malkus up. His own, that is. Though he figured now was a good time to nap, he knew he couldn't allow himself to fall completely asleep. No, even if he wasn't between the alleys of Neverwinter, Malkus couldn't let his guard down for a second. He tighten his grip on his knife as he sat hidden in the bush, glaring at the glow of the campfire in the distance. He allowed his eyes to rest, but his body was always on edge. Sure this meant he couldn't get a restful night's sleep, but it also meant he wasn't going to be completely tired. Until Malkus could find some sort of civilization where he was certain no one was going to slit his throat while he slept, he couldn't afford a good night's rest. To help him keep away Malkus honed his ears to listen to his surroundings. He wasn't just trying to hear such things as footsteps or voices. The buzzing of insects, chirping of birds, skittering of rabbits, his ears heard these things, and his body reacted to when they were close and anticipated when they were near. A few times a rabbit, perhaps brave or foolish, would even come close enough to Malkus for him to grab it. He never did though, simply shooed it away with a hand. While he may have enjoyed the company of such a creature, even the most innocent of woodland animals could be Malkus's end. Not to mention that if the rabbit did stay, it may draw the attention of predators. Foxes... Hunters. Watching the rabbit leave reminded Malkus of why he couldn't stay with Sona. Another poem formed in his head, which he whispered to himself. Go, run rabbit run Be wary of the burrow Where you will be prey Malkus breathed into his hands, trying to warm them up. He guessed how many people were at Sona's camp. Including herself he guessed five. He tried to remember who may be there, he was certain that Sona mentioned a few. But the names eluded him, making him sigh. He wondered if the group was big enough to attract the attention of roaming war gangs. Ten or so warrior would be fool-hardly enough to try and take on a group of five in the wilds. If they're any good they may even try to take on up to thirty. Regardless, so long as whoever finds them wasn't alone, Malkus feared what may happen if they get spotted. For a moment even, Malkus didn't even worry about himself. His mind was simply thinking about how he could make sure no one find them. Though he needed his sleep, Malkus moved from his hidden location to start looking around. He remained hidden like a shadow, looking for anyone who may threaten Sona, and by extension, her party. With any luck he could simply direct them away from their campsite. But if need be, he'll make sure that the forest will grow around the unlucky scout's corpse.
