Akoni closed his eyes and accepted the transportation provided by the watcher. After all, not only would it be a colossal disrespect to refuse, and incredibly foolish, but it was against his own self-interest. Even at his peak, Akoni could never find a way to gate himself to the realm of the Charred Council, the keepers of the balance between the three kingdoms. Whatever they wanted with him and Wrath, even if it was to be punished for their failure to protect the second seal, it would be worth the journey just to see their realm. Once the transition was complete, Akoni gazed all around him and marveled, if silently. To the layman, such a place would be described as Hell. He'd scoff at that. Hell actually had very little fire and brimstone. These were the flames of creation and life. He didn't know from any book or experience he had, but he could feel it in his bones. That's when he caught sight of several more people appearing, also guided by watchers. Most of them he remembered from the Eidolic Cairn. Greeeeeeeeeat. Why does my day need to be ruined with this bullshit? Spotting Snider amongst them, Akoni rolled his eyes and sighed. Using his left index finger, he drew a rectangle in the air, tracing lines of blue magic energy. Once he completed the shape, it solidified in the form of a piece of paper, which drifted through the air and right up into Snider's face. It read as such: Parts - $20 Labor - $15 Twisting the laws of physics into a balloon animal - $300 Total cost of boombox repair - $335 Make checks payable to Akoni The old wizard chuckled to himself, when a loud booming voice commanded his attention. The Council addressed them. They were... Not what Akoni was expecting, but then again he wasn't sure what exactly he was expecting. What he did know was that they gave a chance, an opportunity. He could correct his massive failure. He may even have the opportunity to work with the Horseman, to meet War or Fury or Death. He also knew that their word was absolute, and choosing to walk away would have dire consequences. It wasn't something he had to think twice about. Akoni immediately stepped forward, composing himself through the pain of his cracked ribs. "Honorable Charred Council, I accept." His words were simple, but he needn't say any more.
