Cambria smiled at the older gentleman and fluffed his pillows. She was careful not to catch his IV pole on anything as she laughed at the joke he told her. A few moments later she walked out into the hallway and one of the new doctors called to her, "Um, hey! Crap, you candystriper girl!" Cambria looked up at him and followed his requests to move gurneys out of the ER for more incoming injuries. There had been a big accident on the highway and many people were being rushed into the ER at St. Josephs. Cambria watched as a family was rushed in and there were multiple broken bones. The doctor ordered a portable x-ray machine asap. They thought there was a rib puncturing the little boy's lung. The portable x-ray machines was not working properly. It appeared to have the cord sheared through and couldn't be plugged in. It was the last one in the building and all others were in use. Cambria stood near it and put her hand on it casually supplying it with the juice it needed to work. Cambria smiled as she rolled the portable machine back and sent it to maintenance to be repaired. She smiled to herself as she put her jacket on and left at the end of her shift.
